Review:

The Seinnheiser HD 650′s are almost the very best Sennheiser headphones one can own. They produce fantastic sound and excel at creating an immersive experience. When you are wearing these headphones you can hear every note, every sound in crisp, clear detail. Unlike many other high-end headphone sets the Senheiser HD 650′s are not noise canceling headphones. This means that they do not block out background noise, but this is generally not a problem due to the solid construction of the headphones. They fit well and are adjustable to fit snugly, this is due to the built in spring which keeps the headphones in place. The headphones are made of plastic and metal and have a good amount of weight to them, they feel very well put together and do not seem to have any cheap or easily breakable parts.

The downside to the HD 650′s is the price. Clocking in at almost five hundred dollars, these headphones are certainly not cheap. They also have quite a bit of competition among the upper tiers of headphones. Bose and Sony, as well as other Sennheiser models offer similar features in the for a lot cheaper. While these bad boys are near the top of the line, compared to some other Sennheiser models like the 590 HD’s they seem to be a bit overpriced. Another issue is the lack of noise canceling technology in such an expensive pair of headphones. Equivalent Bose and Sony sets usually come with some sort of noise canceling ability, which is great for certain situations like car or plane trips.

However, if you can afford it these are fantastic headphones. Clear sound, solid construction and stylish to boot.
